Update on the Congressional Workers Rights Resolution!
Hello junior staff, happy Monday!
As you may have seen, Speaker Pelosi announced last Friday that House Leadership will bring the House Congressional Workers Rights Resolution to the Floor for a vote this week!
When the Resolution is passed, House staff and employees will have the protected right to organize. Our bosses will no longer be able to fire, demote, or otherwise retaliate against us for organizing to form a union, and we’ll have recourse through the Office of Congressional Workplace Rights if they do.
We’re still waiting for this week’s schedule to be announced, so stay tuned for more news about that soon! In the meantime, we're attaching a FAQ about the resolution, and you can read a newsletter from First Branch Focus with additional background here.
If you have any questions please reach out!
Yours in solidarity,
CWU
PS: Stay tuned for another big announcement in your inbox coming soon!
