CONGRESSIONAL WORKERS UNION SECURES HISTORIC MEMORANDUMS OF UNDERSTANDING: UNION MEMBERS BRING HOME BIGGER PAYCHECKS

Members of the Pocan and Hoyle Units win MOUs including salary increases, back pay, and immediate cost-of-living adjustments

Washington, DC – The Congressional Workers Union announces that staff in the Office of Congressman Mark Pocan and Congresswoman Val Hoyle secured the first-ever Memorandums of Understanding (MOUs) between congressional staff and their members. 

“From salary increases and back pay to immediate cost-of-living adjustments, our members are bargaining for better wages and winning. We are incredibly proud of the victories notched by staff in the offices of Congressman Pocan and Congresswoman Hoyle. We look forward to continuing our work at the table to secure a first contract further improving staff's working conditions.”

“Today’s victories show that when congressional workers come together to bargain for the pay they deserve, they win—and we’re just getting started,” said the Congressional Workers Union. 

“We’re proud to have signed a Memorandum of Understanding that ensures better compensation, back pay, security, and clarity for staff as we continue working towards a Collective Bargaining Agreement.,” said the Pocan unit. “We secured especially strong raises for junior staff and important acknowledgement of our most-tenured staff through updated job titles.”

“We are proud to announce our signed MOU that secures an immediate cost-of-living adjustment and back pay,” said the Hoyle unit. “We appreciate our management coming to the table ready to negotiate and working with us to secure these wins. We look forward to continuing to work together towards a Collective Bargaining Agreement that increases salaries and reflects the value and contributions of our members.”
